Team Classic’s Gary Dumbrique made his presence felt on his tube automobile a.k.a. “Manang” winning the Quick 8 and Class A titles at the close of the 2011 Halloween Drag Race held last weekend at the Speed City of the Riverfront Business Park in Ma-a.
Dumbrique’s automobile which weighed 701 kls. edged Miki Cong of team DMT in the finals clocking at 6.939. He then duplicated that winning feat in the Class A division on top off Ground Image’s Benjie Pang timed at 7.107
To add on to his winning moments, Dumbrique also got the Fastest All Motor Award with an elapsed time of 6.939 seconds on the 1/8 mile track.
Vanni Garcia of W-Autosports Racing which failed to enter the Quick 8 finals managed to bag the Best Reaction Time at 0.502 and the Fastest Turbo award with 7.025 seconds.
Other winners saw Jeric Al Layan of Vee Dub – Class B division champion, Cris Estanislao of SSF Racing – Class B 1st runner-up, Don-Don Medija of Ground Image – Class C division champion, and Renz Palmiz – Class C 1st runner-up.
Peter Sia Jr. and James Binoya of the organizing Drift Tech Auto Shop along with Willie Torres of the University of Mindanao Broadcasting Network (UMBN) awarded the winners with their respective trophies and other prizes such as a Castrol motor oil after the race.
